Welcome

Hi,
Welcome! What a wonderful path you have begun! I began playing the violin when I was 3 and teaching when I was 12. Now, I have played violin for over 40 years and have taught many students, like you, for over 27 years. My passion is sharing with others how to succeed on their violin and viola. I love to teach and inspire others to success.

I will guide you along the path so you can be successful.

3 important things that everyone notices right away when you play:
  • your tone
  • your time
  • your in tune (ringing or 'right' note)
To begin find a quiet spot where you can work on your violin skill. A mirror will be good and helpful. A mp3 will also be helpful. A music stand or strong magnet to hold your music on the wall. An example for your might be the laundry room, the guest room, your bedroom or basement. You will need room to stand. Sometimes you will sit to do table time (I will talk about this later.)
